PLSS Map

This Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Map is used to subdivide and describe land in the United States. The PLSS is used to divide public domain lands, which are owned by the Federal Government for the benefit of the citizens of the United States. The PLSS divides land into 6-mile-square townships. As you can see from the map above it is drawn into a 6-square township and shows the exact meridians and base lines.
