Isopachs
This is an Isopach Map which shows thew rock or sediment thickness. It displays the strategic thickness of a rock unit as opposed to the true vertical thickness. This map contains contour lines of equal thickness over an area. As you can see from this map the thickness of the sediment decreases the further away you go from the land. Close to the land the thickness is around 875 and deep into the ocean its at 250.
